Leg Configuration Guide

Every vehicle's interior is shaped a little differently, so the Grotto Base is offered in five leg configurations to suit different seat and floor layouts. Find the description below that best matches your car to identify the right configuration or get in touch and we'll help you choose.

Standard

Suited to most SUVs where the rear seats don't fold fully flat. If the folded seat backs slope upward instead of sitting level, or sit noticeably higher than the boot floor, this configuration compensates for that step and gives you a level sleeping surface.

What's included:

• 4x Base Adjustable Support Legs (23–36cm)
• 2x Base Adjustable Support Legs (14–19cm)
• 2x Long Legs (48–75cm)

Seats Folded Flat — More Storage

Suited to vehicles where the rear seats fold down to create a flat boot floor. Uses the standard leg range, giving you generous storage space underneath the platform. Ideal if you want to keep gear accessible beneath your sleeping area.

What's included:

• 6x Base Adjustable Support Legs (23–36cm)
• 2x Long Legs (48–75cm)

Seats Folded Flat — More Headroom

Suited to vehicles where the rear seats fold down to create a flat boot floor. Uses the short leg range, giving you extra headroom above the platform. Ideal if you'd rather trade underneath storage for more space to sit up or move around.

What's included:

• 6x Base Adjustable Support Legs (14–19cm)
• 2x Long Legs (48–75cm)

Seats Removed — More Storage

Suited to vehicles with a full flat surface from the boot right through to the front seats, typically after removing the rear seats entirely. Most common in large SUVs and van setups. Uses the standard leg range, giving you generous storage space underneath the platform.
